• New Shirt! New Store!

  

  Want one of our "Drink in Oregon" T-shirts without the hassle of putting on pants and coming to the bar—pants are always required at the bar—and waiting in line?

  Well, my pants-less pal, you are in luck. We have launched our own wee little Old Gold webstore where you can find various shirts, including the brand new heather gray design with navy print. Plus, we have a few vintage designs in limited sizes on sale as well. All prices include postage, so find that credit card—it's in the pocket of your pants, wherever those are—and start shopping.

• Summer Hours!

  

  Break out the SPF and get ready to spend even more time on our patio. Starting this Friday (June 7th), we will be open at noon every Friday. Yes, noon. That means seven hours of Happy Hour and an excuse for you to skip out on work (you deserve it).

• Team Old Gold Softball

  

  Oh, it's that time again. Team Old Gold—the 2011 (sadly, not 2012) Sunday Softball champions—have returned to the diamond for more hard-hitting and slow-pitching softball action. We opened the season with a narrow 14-12 victory over My Father's Place and will be at it every Sunday though August.

  The first Old Gold baby has arrived! On May 31st, Kennedy Lulu Addabbo was born into this world. Congratulations to Chip and Lorissa.

  And no, we still won't be offering high chairs at the bar.

• O'Trivia Newton-John in May

  

  The poorly-named—yet lovable—O'Trivia Newton-John makes her return on Tuesday, May 28th. Do you have what it takes to answer ridiculous trivia questions while winning fabulous prizes? You probably do. Gather up some friends and we'll see you at 8pm sharp.

• Double Mountain Tap Takeover

  

  In this beer-obsessed town of ours, tap takeovers aren't that big of a deal. But here at The Old Gold we'll be pulling out all the stops (pouring out all the stops?) for our very first brewer event: The Double Mountain Tap Takeover on Thursday, May 23rd.
  
  Our hop-friendly pals from Hood River will be seizing our beloved taps for an evening of rare beer, food specials, and custom whiskey pairings. We've been proudly pouring the Double Mountain Vaporizer since the day we opened—in fact, it was our first sale ever—and we're very excited to work with them on this. The beer starts pouring at 4pm, so stop on by for a pint. Or two.

• Whiskey 101 in June

  

  Our past six Whiskey 101 courses have sold out, so don't be late in signing up for our next class, held at 1pm on Saturday, June 1st. These interactive—i.e. drinkable—lessons cover all things under the great umbrella of whiskey and run $30 (which includes plenty of tastings and some snacks as well). To reserve your spot, come by the bar or email us.

  Hey, smartypants. Come show off your mental skills during our monthly trivia extravaganza, O'Trivia Newton-John. April's pub quiz falls on Tuesday, April 30th, and the fun starts at 8pm. Will there be prizes? Oh god, yes. 

• Eat, Drink, Build

  

  We like eating, drinking, and swinging a hammer, so we're pleased to be part of Habitat for Humanity’s inaugural Women Build event on Wednesday, April 3.

  Eat, Drink, Build is a dine-out fundraiser where local businesses—hey, that's us—donate a percentage of profits to Habitat for Humanity Women Build to help raise much needed money for building houses. Come by on Wednesday, eat, drink, and help make things better for those in need—it's as simple as that.

• March to O'Trivia Newton-John

  

  Tonight marks the return of our monthly pub quiz, the one and only O'Trivia Newton-John. Come gather up a trivia team and battle for the coveted trophy at 8pm, but get here early (unless you want to be left standing). Oh, and the prizes are pretty great this month as well...
